I spent my Sunday night completely glued to the TV, which is a rare thing for me. I was watching the new Sharkfest on Disney+ and got totally sucked into the hammerhead special. The underwater footage is just out of this world — a huge shout-out to the kind of patient, awe-inspiring nature photography that I can only dream of capturing.
It’s funny where your brain goes when you’re watching something so intense. One minute I’m watching sharks, the next I’m thinking about sea turtles and how they have total Taurus energy. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it felt very important at the moment. Even though the water here in Vancouver is a bit too chilly for hammerheads, it still makes me appreciate the wildness of the ocean right on our doorstep.
Anyway, my official ruling is that you can absolutely identify as a sea turtle, even if your star chart says otherwise. I won’t tell a soul. And if you’re looking for something to watch, I can’t recommend #HammerheadSharksUpClose with @bertiegregory enough!
