I just saw the announcement for a new film from Jimmy Chin and Chai Vasarhelyi, and I had to share. It’s called EVEREST: THE OTHER SIDE, and it follows the story of Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson’s quest to ski the North Face of Everest.
I’m already so drawn to this story. It’s not just about the unbelievable athletic feat; it’s about a shared dream between two people, about love, and about profound loss. These are the kinds of human stories that get me every time, the ones that explore what drives us to chase the impossible.
Knowing it’s in the hands of the filmmakers behind ‘Free Solo’ makes me even more excited. Jimmy Chin’s ability to blend high-stakes adventure with breathtaking nature photography is just on another level. It’s one thing to see a beautiful landscape, but it’s another to see the human spirit right there in the middle of it.
I think stories like this are so important. They push us to think bigger. I’ll definitely be in a theater seat when this comes out in October.
